No Chill When He Spills!

May God have no chill when He blesses you!  (AMEN!)
Haha! What a prayer!!! 😂

[Very quick side note: for anyone who doesn’t quite understand what is meant by the term ‘no chill’, it simply refers to ‘not holding back’ – so in this context, it refers to God going all out and not holding back when He blesses you. (Yep, now you can say a heftier Amen!)]

Can you imagine this though?
This is basically what is spoken of in Psalm 23:5 – ‘My cup  O V E R F L O W S’… 

Simply filling the cup to the top isn’t enough for God, no way!
He looks at that cup as a limitation and says “No thank you cup, you can’t tell me how much I’m going to pour out onto my child, I’ll decide myself when it’s enough!” 

That my friend, is why your cup runs over.

And as if that isn’t already enough, the bible tells us that He places you in the midst of your enemies;

“You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies…”
[Psalm 23:5]

And chooses to anoint/bless/fill you up right there!

“…you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.”
[Psalm 23:5]

Now there are a few more things to look at in this verse, and we can definitely draw power, strength and confidence from them.

Firstly, why does God choose to prepare that table in the midst of our enemies?
I mean these are people who don’t like us, and most definitely don’t care to see us winning!
Well look at this, Almighty God uses this to display His Power and Authority.
In case these enemies/haters/oppressors get too big for their boots, God first shows them that though they may bark loudly, and appear ‘strong’, they are truly powerless over your life, your destiny and anything concerning you.
He alone has the final say over your life and so it doesn’t matter what or whom stands against you. (Have a look at Romans 8:31).

Now the anointing itself represents Blessing!
I’m sure that’s the main thing we gather from this verse, but actually here are some other things God is saying to us:

“I am protecting you”.
It doesn’t matter how many people may stand around, seeking to tear you down – the Lord God is covering you now and forevermore.
He is your strong tower (Proverbs 18:10), your fortress and your rock (Psalm 18:1-3)!

“I Love you”.
(What more is there to expand on this one? He adores you, that’s all).
John 3:16, Romans 5:8

“Focus on me”.
Many times we get consumed with so much negativity around us, that we allow fear to paralyse us to a point where we forget the power of God’s light in the midst of darkness.
Well God is a respecter of no man (Acts 10:34), so regardless of every wicked attempt to make you fail or fall – God still does what He has promised to do, and that is keep you (Psalm 121:7).

“You are mine”.
(Isaiah 43:1)
How precious is it to know that God claims us as His own, and puts His mark upon us?
God doesn’t only bless us with things we need on this earth, but it should warm our hearts that He shows His everlasting love for us and makes it known that we are special to Him. In this verse, God embraces us.

Now with all of this to take in, can we just stop to Praise God quickly…
He is so Good! So Kind! And so Faithful!

We serve a God who is bigger and greater and larger than life itself, therefore we must adopt His confidence, as we are made in His very image (Genesis 1:27), and we must not be scared, nor hindered by the presence of enemies! Not now, not ever.

Just let that cup flow friend, let it flow flow flow, and sometime soon, we’ll speak about what to do with the overflow…

My Help

Let’s read:

“I lift up my eyes to the hills.
    From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.”
[Psalm 121:1-2]

This affirmation is beautiful.
But how many of us truly believe that our help comes from God?
How many of us remember that God is actually there to help us?
How many of us accept His help when He sends it?

I ask these questions in the hope that we would each search ourselves for our personal response and then adapt our ways and just stop cheating ourselves of God’s gracious mercy.

1 – How many of us truly believe that our help comes from God?
“It just happened…”
“I got lucky…”
“By coincidence…”

Can I tell you that God knows every single thing about you – from the tiniest strand of hair on your head, to the soles of your feet, to the dinner you ate, and the time you brushed your teeth – God knows everything!
Therefore nothing that happens to you is simply by coincidence, or ‘just happens’.
If you have a look at the bible, it tells us that God has already written every single thing concerning us, way before we even took our first breath, or first step;

“…all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.”
[Psalm 139:16]

(Also read the whole of Psalm 139)

God who made you, is always looking out for you and this is something the bible reminds us of more than once – (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5).
So please friend, rather than attributing things to chance, just take a moment to reflect a bit more, and begin to acknowledge the Grace, Mercy and Help of God in your life.

2 – How many of us remember that God is actually there to help us?
Trust me, I know…
I know how hard it can get, how cloudy it can get, how confusing it can be, how low you can reach at times, that even to look up no longer seems like an option.
But please, I encourage you to look up! And remember that you know a Living God who works miracles – He’s done many things before, and He’ll surely do much more.

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
    yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
I will consider all your works
    and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”
[Psalm 77:11-12]

(Read all of Psalm 77 when you get a chance)

No matter how bad it may seem, you have to remember that there is nothing impossible for the Omnipotent (All-Powerful) God.

“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”
[Jeremiah 32:17] 

And I haven’t missed out those of us who forget God simply because we’re too busy trying to figure things out logically, or practically – please be reminded that Wisdom and Power are His – Daniel 2:19-20, Proverbs 3:19-20 – God knows exactly what to do and how to do it! (And His way will definitely be better than ours).

3 – How many of us accept His help when He sends it?
Now this refusal of God’s help can be down to many things; pride, lack of clarity that it’s actually from Him, denial that you need help at all (acting like it’s all okay), trying to do things ‘practically’ (as mentioned above), or simply because we believe we don’t need it/Him.

Whatever our reasoning may be, I want us to rethink our decision and have a read of the various verses above that not only prove how ‘qualified’ God is to help us, but they actually show us how worthy God is of honour and praise! (And I don’t mean to belittle God by calling Him qualified, because He is Almighty, but I hope you get what I mean).
We should realise that we are truly privileged that He cares enough to always come when we cry (Psalm 46:1).

I want to remind you that we mustn’t be foolish to think that we can do it all alone, or that we don’t need God, for the bible tells us to,

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
    and do not lean on your own understanding.”
[Proverbs 3:5]

Finally, I want to encourage you to go back and read the whole of Psalm 121  (I know, quite a lot of reading in this one) and in case this part skipped your eye, I want you to notice that verse 2 says ‘the Lord who made heaven and earth’, pointing out the fact that His ability to help you is Limitless.
This should tell you then, that He is simply the best place to run to; no-one above Him, no-one better than Him, and most importantly, no-one who knows you like He does!

So here’s a task,
“My help comes from the Lord” – say it out loud to yourself over and over again, and make sure that it sticks so strongly in your mind, that you don’t for one second again, try to do this problem-solving thing (or anything!) without Him.

Welcome and Happy New Year – 2017

Welcome

Heyyyyy… I gladly welcome you to Untainted Word.
It has definitely been a long time coming and I am so pleased that it is finally here and ready to be shared with you all.

For those who do not know, this is a step I have been meaning to take for many years, in terms of expanding how I share the inspirational, faith-based messages that I have been sending by text to my contacts for about 8/9 years now.

I have been encouraged by many people over the years to start a blog or just get these messages online somehow, and I finally have. (Thank you so much to everyone who planted those seeds, you can finally see them germinating).

I ask that you bear with me as everything is starting up, and I ask for your prayers; that this platform will serve its purpose in drawing people closer to God and leading souls to Christ.

It will definitely be expanding, by God’s grace, and in fact there are some interesting things to come in due time, but for now you can anticipate: Sunday’s Shaper; to conclude your week with a word that will enlighten, empower and enrich your mind with the right thoughts; enabling you to constructively reflect on the past week and equipping you with scripture to apply in the week ahead.
You can also look forward to Wednesday’s Wake-Up Call; a mid-week pick-me-up, to re-encourage, re-inspire and remind you of your ability to be excellent for the rest of the week.
The purpose of these messages is to bring attention to God’s truths – both His promises for us and His expectations of us as His children.

Hopefully, between here, and the Home and About pages, you will have a good enough idea of what Untainted Word is all about.

Happy New Year!!
Please pardon my lateness, I know we are 16 days in, but hey, the year is still pretty fresh, right?

2016 was many things for each of us.
It was filled with highs and lows, positives and negatives, fulfillments and disappointments.
For some it was their best year yet, for others it was the opposite, but one thing we can all say about 2016, regardless of our individual experience of it, is, it has gone.

Whether 2016 brought us joy or sorrow, it is now officially in the past.
And actually God says;

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
[Isaiah 43:18]

Therefore, whilst it is wise to remember and improve from the lessons you learnt last year, it is very important for you to understand that there is absolutely nothing you can do to change anything that happened in it. That means friend, let it go and look forward to the new things.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
[Isaiah 43:19]

How apt is this promise of God for a new beginning?

One thing we should always remember about God’s word is that it doesn’t return to Him unfulfilled – [Isaiah 55:11], in other words, God sticks to His word and does what He says.
That therefore places the ball in our court; God gives us His word, but it is our choice to receive, believe and use it.

So the question now is, how many of us will accept this promise of God from Isaiah 43:18-19, and be determined and confident enough to actively pursue and achieve our goals in 2017?
How many of us will truly believe that God will make a way, and do a new thing for us this year?
If He tells you to let go of the old, in order to make room for the new, will you trust Him enough to obey?

Along with our New Year’s resolutions, it is worth ensuring that we also endeavour to walk closely with God, be led by Him, and be sensitive to the direction of the Holy Spirit.
I pray that we will hold on firmly to the word of God, and as we do, may 2017 be our most glorious and successful year yet, in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
